For optimum viewing of the lectures your monitor should be adjusted for a resolution of 800 x 600 or higher. At lower resolutions you will not be able to see all of the screen.

Among the required plugins for the lectures are the following:

Molecular Design Limited's Chime
RealMedia's Real Player
Apple's Quicktime
Macromedia's Shockwave
Macromedia's Flash
Microsoft's Windows Media Player for Streaming Video

All of these plugins are free and available for download by following the links above. In addition, some type of media player for MPEG movies will probably be needed at some point. Some versions of Quicktime can play these movies. Newer versions of Windows Media Player also can. If you cannot find a version of the Chime plugin that works with your browser and/or do not wish to install it, each page with interactive molecular structures has a link for an alternate display using JAVA only.

There are two categories of media links used in these presentations. Color coded balls are used to distinguish them:

WWW links on other servers
Links to material on the server hosting this website

These presentations were designed for IE 6.0. Some testing has been done with current versions of Netscape in an attempt to maintain cross-browser compatibility. With both browsers only the standard buttons and address bar should be displayed in order to have enough screen space to display the presentations properly. Text size in IE should be set to "medium" and in Netscape should be 12 pt. If you are using AOL's browser, well...........

Finally, since these presentations only display properly outside the navigational frames of this site, you can return to the Lecture Index page at any time by clicking on the "home" icon you will find in the upper left corner of the screen.
